Mesquite to host Memorial Day service


The City of Mesquite will host a Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 30, at the Mesquite Veterans Memorial, 425 S. Galloway Ave. The brief program will honor the men and women who died while serving in the United States military. The program will begin at 2:55 p.m. to coincide with National Moment of Remembrance. City Lake Aquatic Center hours 


Due to a nationwide shortage of lifeguards, pool hours will be adjusted for the summer in Mesquite. The City Lake Aquatic Center, located at 200 Parkview Street, will operate Thursday – Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. for open swim. Vanston and Town East Pools will only be used for swim team, swim lessons, and water aerobics. Learn more.

National Public Works Week


At the May 16 City Council meeting, Mayor Daniel Aléman proclaimed May 15-21, 2022 as National Public Works Week in the City of Mesquite.  In honor of the special week, the City released the “Ready and Resilient” video. Read the full proclamation here.

Motley Park updates completed


The City of Mesquite's Motley Park, 4000 Moon Drive, recently received an update to the multi-use court. The outdated and underutilized tennis court was converted to a Futsal court, a smaller version of indoor soccer. The half-court basketball areas also were refreshed. Looking for a summer job? The Mesquite Parks and Recreation Department is looking for Lifeguards to join the team. Starting pay is $12 per hour. Apply here.

Short Term Rentals Update


After an increasing number of concerns raised by residents living near short term rental properties, the Mesquite City Council passed a series of measures to address concerns with parking, noise, commercial events and disorderly conduct at these properties. Learn more.
