Mesquite Hosts Movie Series for Families

Mesquite Parks and Recreation invites families to enjoy the return of its annual movie series. The fun begins with the interactive Movies in the Park and Touch-A-Truck event on April 24 at Paschall Park, located at 1001 New Market Road. This free event offers a unique opportunity for children to climb on, explore, and learn about essential City of Mesquite vehicles, including police cars, dump trucks, fire trucks and more, before settling in for a screening of the animated film “Cars.” Learn more here. Traffic Update: South Walker Street Progress

Construction on South Walker Street is nearing completion, with the majority of travel lanes now open to traffic. The project remains on track for full completion in Spring 2026. For weekly construction updates, visit the Road Report website.

Mesquite Arts Theatre Presents, "The Odd Couple"

The Mesquite Arts Theatre brings a hilarious production of Neil Simon’s classic, “The Odd Couple," in which two wildly different roommates navigate the chaos of living together. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. from April 10-26 at the Mesquite Arts Center. Visit here for tickets.

Celebrate Spring with Family Events 

Trash Bash, presented by Keep Mesquite Beautiful, is Saturday, April 25. Join the hundreds of volunteers at the Town East Mall parking lot marquee to pick up tools, then get to work cleaning up Mesquite. Cinco de Mayo is May 2 from noon to 5 p.m., in partnership with the Hispanic Forum of Mesquite. This free event takes place at Front Street Station with food, fun, and entertainment. The Citywide Council Picnic takes place Saturday, May 9, 11 a.m., at City Lake Park Pavilion, 200 Parkview Street. All residents are invited to enjoy activities, food and meet your neighbors and councilmembers.
