City Council to meet March 16

The Mesquite City Council meets at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 16, at City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Ave. Members of the public, applicants and interested parties may attend the meeting in person. Members of the public desiring to comment during Citizens Forum must preregister by either sending an email to sland@cityofmesquite.com or calling 972-329-8388 before 3 p.m. on March 16. Provide the City Secretary with your name and address. Comments on agenda items may be made during the meeting or by submission on or before 3 p.m. on March 16 to the City Secretary. Meeting agendas can be viewed online. The City broadcasts meetings via Facebook Live and at www.cityofmesquite.com/WatchCouncilMeetings.

Celebrate Rodeo Day in Mesquite

Mesquite will celebrate its Western roots during Rodeo Day in Downtown Mesquite on Saturday, March 28. Come enjoy the 68th Annual Rodeo Parade at 10 a.m. and check out the food and vendors at the opening day of the Downtown Mesquite Market from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. For more information about Rodeo Day, click here.

Pothole Blitz and Road Report Update

Construction on South Walker Street continues, with asphalt paving now completed from Davis Street to Holly Park Drive and earlier paving completed on one side of the roadway between New Market Road and Davis Street. Work will continue toward New Market Road. The project is scheduled for completion in Spring 2026. Also, the Streets Division filled 74 potholes across Mesquite during last month's Pothole Blitz. Historic Hot Rods at the Vintage Car Show

Historic Mesquite will host the Vintage Car Show from 1-4 p.m. on March 21 at Opal Lawrence Historical Park, 711 E. Kearney St. Register your classic car for $30 for a chance to win trophies and prizes, or attend the show for free. Visit www.HistoricMesquite.org for more information.

Atmos Energy Maintenance to Begin in Mesquite

Atmos Energy will begin routine natural gas system maintenance in Mesquite starting Monday, March 16, with work expected to continue through May 5. Residents may notice work activity between Oates Road and Wooded Lake Drive. During testing, you may also see yellowish-green dyed water on roadways.

The Mesquite Arts Theatre presents, "What's My Line Again?," a new take on the popular TV improv series on March 14.
