Pothole Blitz and Road Report Update

Crews repaired 189 potholes across several neighborhoods and corridors during this month's Pothole Blitz. Also, a traffic switch began on F.P. Lucas Blvd. last week. All lanes will be opened to normal intended traffic flow, however there will be occasional alternate lane closures as the project comes to a close. This will mostly impact Vanguard High School driveways. For more updates on road work in Mesquite, visit the Road Report.

Give Wisely This Holiday Season

Donating directly to unhoused solicitors on the road may contribute to the cycle of homelessness. Instead, volunteer at a local charity or donate to agencies providing resources to the unsheltered this holiday season. The City offers staff and resources to connect unhoused individuals with assistance, including transportation to shelters, support agencies and willing family or friends. Holiday Food Waste Disposal Tips

This holiday season, avoid attracting pests and paying for expensive plumbing repairs by properly disposing of food waste. Put trash out the day of your trash collection instead of letting it sit out. Consider freezing your food waste until collection day. Also, scrape cooled grease or fat into the trash, or pour it into a closed-lid container and throw away. Learn more at www.cityofmesquite.com/FOG.
