Adventure awaits with Fall Fun Guide

A new edition of the Fall Fun Guide is out! Learn about all the activities and programs that the Mesquite Parks and Recreation Department is offering from September to December 2024 through this colorful guide.

Property Tax 101 at Town Hall Tuesday

There will be a special Town Hall Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 24 in the Training Rooms A&B at City Hall.

Dallas County Tax Office and Dallas Central Appraisal District representatives will be presenting "Property Tax 101," and will explain the property tax system, how property values are assessed, the steps involved in the appraisal appeal process, and key property tax deadlines.

KMB's Trash Bash on Sept. 28

Keep Mesquite Beautiful presents its twice-annual community cleanup event with Trash Bash from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. Trash Bash is an opportunity for families, neighbors and groups to enjoy the outdoors and help beautify the Mesquite community. Volunteers are asked to pre-register to help event organizers coordinate supplies and cleanup site locations. See details and register here.

Guts & Gory Zombie Experience

Oh no -- zombies are going to attack at Rorie-Galloway Day Camp in Mesquite on Sept. 28! Or at least volunteers in zombie costumes as part of the annual Guts & Gory Zombie Experience. Run through the woods, compete in team building challenges and try to survive the zombie horde. Participate in this unique event as a racer for a fee or as a zombie for free. All participants must be 12 years or older, and parents are encouraged to use discretion when registering their children. Learn more and register here.

District 1 Meeting on Oct. 3

City Councilmember Jeff Casper will host the District 1 Meeting at 7 p.m. on Oct. 3 at Dunford Recreation Center, 1015 Green Canyon Drive.

Residents are invited to come hear updates and meet their Councilmember.

Tickets on sale for Mesquite Meander

Tickets are now on sale for Historic Mesquite, Inc.’s Mesquite Meander, an unforgettable outdoor, theatrical living-history tour through Mesquite Cemetery.

This annual experience features local actors portraying residents from the community’s past. Tickets are $15 per person. The Meander offers tours starting every 10 minutes that run approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Tour times on Oct. 11 start at 6 p.m. with last tour starting at 7:30 p.m. Tour times on Oct. 12 start at 5:30 p.m. with last tour starting at 7 p.m.

Mesquite Cemetery is located at 400 Holley Park Dr. Attendees should note that the Mesquite Meander is an outdoor event in a historic cemetery, so there may be areas of uneven ground and gravel walkways.
