Resident input sought for City's annual budget through July 10 The City of Mesquite is seeking resident input as part of the annual budget development process. Feedback collected from this exercise will be made available to City leadership as they make budget decisions for the next fiscal year. The survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete and will ask questions on a list of programs and services. The survey is available now through July 10. Luau Pool Party on July 14 Mesquite Parks and Recreation will host a Luau Pool Party from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 14, at City Lake Aquatic Center, 200 Parkview St. This free event will offer swimming, fun games, and prizes. A performance of a live hula show with a fire dancer will also be featured. Event capacity is limited to 500 people due to pool restrictions. Volunteers sought for Addressing Mesquite Day Calling all volunteers. This year’s Addressing Mesquite Day (AMD) will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023. This annual one-day event focuses on home repairs needed by senior citizens, single parents, military veterans, the disabled, and other homeowners in Mesquite. Volunteer groups have until July 23, 2023 to sign up. Every organization that wishes to volunteer will be assigned a local house or yard project to make a difference in fellow residents’ lives.
