Town Hall Tuesday on City's Budget

The City of Mesquite is hosting a town hall meeting on Tuesday, July 19, at Mesquite City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Avenue in Training Rooms A & B, beginning at 7 p.m. to provide an update on the City’s current budget and plans for next year’s budget. Presentations will include details on City programs and services, as well as the results of
the budget survey that was recently completed by the public. The public can attend the meeting in person or watch online on the City’s Facebook page or on the City’s website. The public can visit www.cityofmesquite.com/Budget to learn more about the City’s budget.

Budget Retreat on July 23


On July 23, the City Council will hold their annual Budget Retreat at City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Avenue in Training Rooms A and B from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public may watch the retreat on the City’s Facebook page or at http://www.cityofmesquite.com/Budget on the City’s website.

Mesquite Budget Survey Available


The City of Mesquite is offering its residents an opportunity to provide their input on the city’s budget using an online survey at www.cityofmesquite.com/2023BudgetSurvey through July 10. Watch a video about the City’s budget process here.

Trash Cart Program


The Trash Cart Program began on June 1, 2022, to provide an affordable, uniform container that meets the intent of the ordinance. The cart fee may be paid in full or over a three-month period which will be charged on the resident’s Utility bill. Enrollment in the program is optional for existing Mesquite residents and required with a new utility account. Learn more about the trash cart program here.

Luau Pool Party on July 15


In conjunction with Park and Recreation Month, the Mesquite Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Luau Pool Party on Friday, July 15, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., at City Lake Aquatic Center, located at 200 Parkview Street. This free event will feature free swim, contests, food trucks and more. Learn more.

AMD volunteer applications due July 22

Volunteer groups have until July 22 to sign up for the 18th Annual Addressing Mesquite Day on Oct. 1. Apply online at www.cityofmesquite.com/AMD. For details, call the Office of Neighborhood Vitality at 972- 216-6473.

Spread the Love this Summer

Spread the Love is an annual campaign held April - August that encourages the donation of peanut butter and jelly as well as financial contributions to help feed children in Mesquite during the summer who live in food insecure environments. These children receive free or reduced lunch during the school year but need assistance to nutritious lunch during the summer break. Learn more.
