Mesquite offers free mental counseling and referral services The City of Mesquite has announced it is offering its residents access to free mental health counseling and referral services through a new partnership with the AZAR Foundation. Financial assistance for Mesquite residents impacted by COVID-19 The City of Mesquite still has funds available to aid its residents who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The funds can be used to pay rent, mortgage and utilities. Residents can receive as much as $1,500 per month for six months, depending on eligibility. Residents have until Nov. 30 to to apply for funding through Catholic Charities Dallas by email at CCDdisaster@ccdallas.org or by phone at 214-257-0674. The City's assistance program is a part of the Recovery Mesquite campaign and is funded through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Longer-term payment plans are available to help residents who are struggling to pay their City water bills due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
