Avoid scams during the coronavirus pandemic


Scammers are taking advantage of people’s fears surrounding the Coronavirus. Some of the top scams include a fake stimulus check, testing scams, charity scams and more. One of the biggest signs of a scam is a sense of urgency. Scammers will apply pressure or use fear to get you to act. Another sign of a scam is scarcity. Scammers are claiming there is a limited supply, so you must “buy now.” Learn more about the top COVID-19 scams and how to avoid them.

Easter Wekend STAR Transit

STAR Transit closed Easter weekend


In observance of Easter weekend, STAR Transit’s admin offices will be closed and will not operate transit service on Good Friday, April 10, Saturday, April 11 nor Easter Sunday, April 12. This includes demand response, STARNow and all fixed routes. For more information, call 877-631-5278, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or visit www.STARtransit.org.

Join the Mesquite Landmark Commission


The City of Mesquite is accepting applications for the new Mesquite Landmark Commission. The Commission will work to protect, enhance and promote landmarks and districts of historical, cultural and architectural importance in the City. Residents who are interested in being the first members of the commission can apply online at www.cityofmesquite.com/LandmarkCommission. Applications are due by May 1. Learn more.
