Mesquite Housing Division

Background

The Mesquite Housing Division administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. This tenant-based rental assistance program is funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). HUD provides 100% of the funding to agencies like The Mesquite Housing Division to administer the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program.

Mission

The mission of the City of Mesquite Housing Division is to promote independence, provide housing assistance, and ensure family stability for the families we serve. We achieve this by adhering to HUD guidelines and delivering consistent, professional customer service through teamwork.

We are here to help low and moderate-income families secure safe, decent, and sanitary housing while encouraging self-sufficiency. The Mesquite Housing Division’s primary goal is reflected in our mission statement. We go beyond merely providing housing vouchers. Our dedicated team of caseworkers, inspectors, and staff assists families and individuals in securing housing that meets HUD’s Housing Quality Standards. We are committed to treating everyone with respect and fostering strong collaborative efforts between our agency and the community.
