Jeff Jones joined the City of Mesquite in 2016, and serves as Assistant City Manager. Jones manages the departments of Police, Fire, Human Resources as well as the Mesquite Metro Airport and the Mesquite Arts Center.
Jones previously worked for the City of Hurst as Assistant City Manager and Assistant to the City Manager from 1998 - 2016. He also has previous management experience with the City of Casper, WY, the State of Kansas Governor’s Budget Division and the City of Douglas, WY.
Jones has a Masters of Public Administration from Texas Tech University - Center for Public Service. He is also a graduate of the prestigious Public Executive Institute held at the University of Texas at Austin - LBJ School of Public Affairs and has earned the designation of Credentialed Manager from the International City/County Management Association.
Jones is active in the community through his service in United Way, the Rotary Club and the Boy Scouts.
