  1. Public Hearing on Proposed Tax Rate

    September 5, 2017, 7:00 PM @ Mesquite City Hall

    The City of Mesquite will hold two public hearings on the proposed tax rate. The proposed tax rate of $0.687 per $100 of taxable value remains the same as last year. Individual property tax bills may increase or decrease depending on the change in the taxable value of your property. Public hearings will be held on August 21 at 7 p.m. and September 5 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Mesquite City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Avenue.

    City Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month. The meetings are re-scheduled to the next Tuesday when it conflicts with a City holiday that falls on a Monday meeting date. The start time is published once the agenda is finalized and posted online. Per State law, agendas are posted a minimum of 72 hours in advance of the meeting start time. Residents may sign-up through “Notify Me” on the City’s website to receive email notification when a new City Council agenda has been posted.   1. Preschool Storytime

    September 5, 2017, 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM @ Mesquite Main and North Branch Library

    This program is recommended for children 3 to 5 years old. There is a mix of songs, rhymes, finger plays, and books. However, there is a greater emphasis on books, on longer stories with more challenging content, and on independent participation by the kids Children will be introduced to group participation, and caregivers will learn some songs and rhymes to share with their children at home. This program is an opportunity for children to mature socially and developmentally in preparation for school. Program length: approx. 30 minutes.
