  1. Mark Nesmith Gallery Exhibit

    Mark Nesmith is a modern American painter and musician who lives and works in Southeast Texas. Mark studied art at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX earning his BFA in 1998, and also studied painting and drawing at the University of North Texas in Denton. He teaches art in the Port Neches-Groves ISD and previously taught art and music in the Dallas ISD and the Goose Creek CISD. As a musician Mark performed hundreds of shows around the country with the bands Hackberry Road and Lone Star Republic, and still performs regularly throughout SE Texas. He has written about art for Ezine Articles and Empty Easel, and authored the blog Paint Daily Texas. Mark is a member of the Artists of Texas and Contemporary Fine Artists International.

    Your kids will not want to miss this fun, week-long theater camp! Children grades 1-10 are invited to audition for this full production of "Alice in Wonderland". Children will learn script, music, choreography and perform two shows on Saturday 22nd. All are welcome!

  4. Junior Players - Discover Theater! Class

    July 19, 2017, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Mesquite North Branch Library

    Junior Players, in collaboration with the Mesquite North Branch Library, will be providing Free Discover Theater Classes. Led by a professional theater instructor, students will learn theater basics, games and techniques that are used towards creating scenes and plays. The two week class is Monday through Friday, July 10 - July 21 and is limited to 25 participants. Register at the North Branch Library.     Attention Pokemon Trainers! The Mesquite Public Library is inviting Pokemon Trainers of all ages to visit the Main Library and North Branch Library this summer to catch Pokemon and meet other trainers. The Mesquite Main Library, located at 300 West Grubb Drive, is a Poke-Stop and will be using Lure Modules to attract even more awesome Pokemon to the library on Wednesday afternoons from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. during Summer Reading Club. For those new to the game, a Pokemon Safari Guide will be available to answer questions. While you’re at the Library hunting for Pokemon, don’t forget to sign up for a library card and check out some great books to read this summer!
