(2): If the wildlife appears to be heathy and is not in your living quarters, Animal Services does not pick up the animal.

2. How do I report a barking concern?

Nuisance barking complaints can be reported to Animal Services at (972) 216-6283 or online at:

*Animal Services recommends calling with the address of the location with the barking animal(s).
*Calls received after normal operating hours will be responded to the following business day.

3. How do I report a stray animal?

Stray animals may be reported to Animal Services at (972) 216-6283 or online at http://www.cityofmesquite.com/FormCenter/Animal-Control-3/Report-an-Incident-43.

*Animal Services recommends reporting the location where the dog was spotted.

4. How do I report a vicious stray animal?

If you are witnessing an active animal bite/attack, contact 911 immediately.

5. What can I do if I have lost my pet?

Animal Services recommends the following steps when looking for a lost pet:
1. Come to the City’s Shelter to check in person.
2. View the Community Lost and Found postings at:This link.
3. View the City Shelter’s postings at: This link.
*The City Shelter’s website is updated as soon as animals are transferred in and out of the facility.

6. What do I do with my pet that has passed away?

Animal Services has two options for taking care of a deceased pet:
1. Owners can bring the pet directly to the Animal Shelter
2. Owners can request a pet pick-up at (972) 216-6283 or online at: This link.

Animal Services requests that deceased pets be placed in a box or wrapped in a trash bag and placed on the curb for pick-up.

(1): If witnessing an active act of cruelty, contact 911 immediately.

8. Animal Emergencies

The following items are considered emergencies and residents should call 911 immediately:
