Mesquite Police Department arrests burglar

On March 10, a burglary of a habitation was reported in the 700 block of Green Canyon Drive. The homeowner’s security video showed a suspect kicking in the back door and entering the house. A copy of the video was placed on social media and soon went viral. The Mesquite Police Department received an anonymous tip concerning the case on March 19. The caller identified the suspect as Chris Green from Garland. Investigators discovered one outstanding burglary warrant for Green and located him in the 400 block of Gatewood Road in Garland. When interviewed, he confessed to the Green Canyon burglary. Green has been charged with one count of burglary of a habitation, a second degree felony carrying a bond of $10,000.
