Councilmember Jeff Casper will host the District 1 Meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Dunford Recreation Center, 1015 Green Canyon Drive. Councilmember Kenny Green will host the District 2 Meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Mesquite Public Library North Branch, 2600 Oates Drive. Councilmember Brandon Murden will host the District 6 meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, at Terry Middle School, 2351 Edwards Church Road. Celebrate Black History Month

Throughout February, the City of Mesquite will celebrate Black History Month with events to honor the contributions of African Americans. Historic Mesquite Inc. will host a free screening of "Cowboys of Color" at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Opal Lawrence Historical Park, 711 E. Kearney St. Director Coy Poitier will answer questions from the audience after the film. Learn more at www.HistoricMesquite.org. Performances at the Arts Center

The Mesquite Arts Theatre presents “Harvey." The show runs through Feb. 23 at the Mesquite Arts Center. For information and tickets, visit www.MesquiteArtsTheatre.org.

Experience Winter GLOW Fest! Feb. 15

The Mesquite Arts Council will present Winter GLOW Fest!, a new free and family-friendly experience, from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Mesquite Arts Center. Enjoy workshops, vendors, music and an immersive glow-in-the-dark experience. Learn more at www.mesquiteartscenter.org.

Get tickets for Daddy Daughter Dance

Dads and daughters are invited for a “denim and diamonds” themed night of fun at the annual Daddy Daughter Dance on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Mesquite Convention Center, 1700 Rodeo Drive. The special event will feature a live DJ, concessions, themed selfie stations and a 360 photobooth. Tickets can be purchased for $20 per person, per session. Register for the Neighborhood Summit

The City of Mesquite is hosting the annual Neighborhood Summit on March 1 at Vanguard High School, 4201 Faithon P. Lucas Sr. Blvd from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. The Summit is free and open to all residents. A mix of expert speakers and interactive sessions will cover topics to better foster community engagement among residents. Light breakfast will be provided.
