Celebrate Black History MonthThroughout February, the City of Mesquite will celebrate Black History Month with events to honor the contributions of African Americans. Historic Mesquite Inc. will host a free screening of "Cowboys of Color" at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Opal Lawrence Historical Park, 711 E. Get tickets for Daddy Daughter DanceDads and daughters are invited for a “denim and diamonds” themed night of fun at the annual Daddy Daughter Dance on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Mesquite Convention Center, 1700 Rodeo Drive. The special event will feature a live DJ, concessions, themed selfie stations and a 360 photobooth. Tickets can be purchased for $20 per person, per session.
