City Council to meet Feb. 3

The Mesquite City Council meets at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, at City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Ave. Members of the public, applicants and interested parties may attend the meeting in person.

Members of the public desiring to comment during Citizens Forum must preregister by either sending an email to sland@cityofmesquite.com or calling 972-329-8388 before 3 p.m. on Feb. 3. Provide the City Secretary with your name and address. Comments on agenda items may be made during the meeting or by submission on or before 3 p.m. on Feb. 3 to the City Secretary.

District 1 Meeting

Councilmember Jeff Casper will host the District 1 Meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Dunford Recreation Center, 1015 Green Canyon Drive. Black History Month begins Feb. 1

Throughout February, the City of Mesquite will celebrate Black History Month with events, activities and recognitions to honor the contributions of African Americans. Visit www.cityofmesquite.com/BHM for details.

State of the Community 

The City of Mesquite will host the State of the Community at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Mesquite Arts Center, 1527 N. Galloway Ave. The event will include a panel discussion with community leaders and will end with a short reception. Find out more.

The City of Mesquite is looking for new partners to serve on one of its boards or commissions. We’re looking for engaged citizens to volunteer their time, knowledge and expertise to make a difference in their community.

Performances at the Arts Center

The Mesquite Arts Theatre will present “Harvey." The show runs from Feb. 7-23 at the Mesquite Arts Center. For information and tickets, visit www.MesquiteArtsTheatre.org.
