City Council to meet Oct. 3


Mesquite City Council meets October 3 at City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Ave. Members of the public, applicants and interested parties may attend the meeting in person. Face coverings are optional for attendees, but the city will continue to implement social distancing measures with limited seating. Members of the public desiring to comment during Citizens Forum must preregister as follows: Send an email or call the City Secretary on or before 3 p.m. October 3 at sland@cityofmesquite.com or 972-216- 6244. Provide the City Secretary with your name and address. Comments on agenda items may be made during the meeting or by submission on or before 3 p.m. on October 3 to the following email address: sland@cityofmesquite.com. View meeting agendas online. City of Mesquite water increase


The City of Mesquite will implement a 9% increase in water rates effective October 1, 2022.  The rate adjustment is due to a 13% increase in the cost of water supplied by the North Texas Municipal Water District due to significant costs in the chemicals and labor needed to treat drinking water. Movies in the Park on Oct. 1


To kick off the Halloween season, Mesquite Parks and Recreation presents Movies in the Park this Saturday, October 1 at Camp Rorie Galloway located at 3100 Lawson Rd. PumpkinFest on Oct. 15


The 19th annual PumpkinFest will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 12 – 5 p.m. at Paschall Park, 1001 New Market Road. This family friendly event celebrates the Fall season. Dress in your costume and come out to enjoy the festivities. This event features carnival games, bounce houses, activities for kids and more!
Admission is free, but concessions and some activities will have a cost. Learn more.
