City Council meets June 6


Mesquite City Council meets June 6 at City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Ave. Members of the public, applicants and interested parties may attend the meeting in person. Face coverings are optional for attendees, but the city will continue to implement social distancing measures with limited seating. Members of the public desiring to comment during Citizens Forum must preregister as follows: Send an email or call the City Secretary on or before 3 p.m. June 6 at sland@cityofmesquite.com or 972-216- 6244. Provide the City Secretary with your name and address. Comments on agenda items may be made during the meeting or by submission on or before 3 p.m. on June 6 to the following email address: sland@cityofmesquite.com. View meeting agendas online. Mesquite hosts Memorial Day service


The City of Mesquite hosted a Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 30, at the Mesquite Veterans Memorial. The brief program honored the men and women who died while serving in the United States military. The program began at 2:55 p.m. to coincide with National Moment of Remembrance. Mesquite Rodeo Returns June 4


The Mesquite Championship Rodeo (MCR) is riding back into town this weekend. Saturday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. marks the start of the summer rodeo series at the Mesquite Arena, 1818 Rodeo Drive, which will take place every Saturday until Aug. 28. For more than 60 years, MCR has entertained families with thrilling rodeo events such as saddle bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, team roping and more. Purchase tickets.

Dive - In Movie on June 10

City Lake Aquatic Center hours 


Due to a nationwide shortage of lifeguards, pool hours will be adjusted for the summer in Mesquite. The City Lake Aquatic Center, located at 200 Parkview Street, will operate Thursday – Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. for open swim. Vanston and Town East Pools will only be used for swim team, swim lessons, and water aerobics. Learn more.
