District 1 / Mike Anderson Park Input Meeting 

The City of Mesquite and District 1 Councilmember Jeff Casper will host a public meeting on Saturday, March 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. to provide city updates on District 1 and receive citizen input on the design of Mike Anderson Park. The meeting will be held at the future park’s location at 3500 E. Emporium Circle is open to all residents.

2022 Redistricting Public Meetings


The City of Mesquite will host the first of three public input meetings on Council redistricting on Tuesday, March 29. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and be held at Florence Recreation Center, 2501 Whitson Way. The meeting is open to all residents and is intended to gather public feedback on proposed redistricting illustrative maps.

Mesquite Community Survey Results


The City of Mesquite conducted a 2021 Mesquite Community Attitude and Satisfaction Survey. The survey was administered by ETC Institute, a national leader in conducting customer satisfaction surveys for governmental organizations. The survey results were presented to the City Council at March 21 Council meeting. View results here.

Kids Fishing Event on March 26


Mesquite Parks and Recreation is partnering with Pond Hopper Nation to provide a free family fun fishing event  on March 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is designed to educate and provide a hands-on fishing experience and memories for children and families. The first 100 children that attend will receive a free fishing rod and tackle. Mesquite Arts Center offers free craft


The Mesquite Arts Council is offering a free Create Your Own Spring Flowers, as part of their Tote-and-Go Service on March 28. This event is first-come, first-serve. Kits will be available for pick up starting at 12 p.m. inside the Mesquite Arts Center front lobby through a contactless service. Learn more.

How to dispose of chemical waste


It’s almost time for spring cleaning which is the perfect time to dispose items like aerosol sprays, batteries, cleaners and many other household items. Mesquite is part of the Dallas County Household Hazardous Waste Network. Residents can drop off home chemicals at the Home Chemical Collection Center, 11234 Plano Road at no charge.
