Mesquite City Council meets Feb. 17, at City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Ave. The Pre-Meeting begins at 5 p.m. in Training Rooms A and B, followed by the Regular Meeting at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber. Annual water change

Annual change in water disinfectant scheduled from March 2 to March 30


The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) will temporarily change the disinfectant in its water treatment process from March 2 through March 30, 2020. The annual, routine change is necessary to maintain the regional system and year-round water quality. It keeps drinking water free of harmful microorganisms, such as parasites and viruses. Mesquite Main Library hosts free tax assistance program 


The Mesquite Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Drive, will host free tax assistance for residents this tax season. The sessions are Feb. 24; March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30; and April 6 and 13. Sessions are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call the library at 972-216-6220.

The City of Mesquite’s Office of Neighborhood Vitality hosts the Third Annual Neighborhood Summit on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020 at MISD Professional Development Center, 3819 Towne Crossing Boulevard. It is free and open to all residents. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with their neighbors and city staff and learn more about the community.
