City Council holds public hearing on temporary moratorium on convenience stores


The City Council moves forward with imposing a temporary moratorium on applications and plans for new convenience stores within the corporate City limits of Mesquite. The Mesquite Police Department presented various proposed strategies for addressing crime in our community. Watch the discussion from the Jan. 28 public hearing.

Are you brave enough? The Mesquite Police Department and Special Olympics Texas invite you to take part in the Annual Polar Plunge. Support local Special Olympics athletes by plunging into icy cold water on Feb. 1 at City Lake Aquatic Center, 200 Parkview Street. This year’s theme is “Rollin’ Out the Resources” and all Mesquite residents will have the opportunity to network with their neighbors and city staff, and learn more about the community.
