Mesquite’s Summer Sizzle returns with new contests and entertainment

Mesquite, TX - May 29, 2018 – The City of Mesquite’s Summer Sizzle festival returns Saturday, June 9, from noon - 10 p.m. in Paschall Park, 1001 New Market Road, with more contests, entertainment, food and fun. The event will feature live music performances by E Flat Porch Band, The Voice contestant Hannah Kirby, and Prophets and Outlaws. Headlining the festival is popular disco band Le Freak. Three lucky winners will also be selected to receive backstage passes to visit with Hannah Kirby prior to her showtime at 4 p.m. To enter the drawing, stop by the Parks and Recreation information booth between noon - 3 p.m.

Other event offerings include pizza and rib eating contests, the return of the popular mud volleyball tournament, Texas-sized yard games, arts and crafts booths, food trucks, a Splash and Kids Activity Zone, and more.

Plus, bring two jars of peanut butter or jelly in support of the City of Mesquite Spread the Love food drive and receive a $5 discount off the purchase of a $15 all-day, unlimited access wristband to the Kids Activity Zone.
