Mesquite Recycles Day is Saturday, May 12

Mesquite, Texas – April 20, 2018 – Keep Mesquite Beautiful, Inc. and the City of Mesquite will host the semi-annual Recycles Day event from 8 a.m. - noon on Saturday, May 12. This drive-through event will take place in the front parking lot of Poteet High School, 3300 Poteet Drive.

The following items will be accepted:

  • E-waste (computers, monitors, televisions, printers, any electronic device)
  • Used cellular phones, cellular phone batteries and accessories, used laser and ink jet printer cartridges, and used rechargeable batteries
  • Gently used eyeglasses
  • Gently used books, videos, DVDs, CDs, and Books on Tape (magazines are not accepted; please place those in your regular recycling bin)
  • Gently used clothing, handbags, linens and towels
  • Gently used toys and children’s items
  • Tires and used appliances

On-site document shredding will be available by DataShred, a NAID (National Association of Information Destruction) certified company. Please visit www.datashred.com for more information on the document destruction process. After the event, participants can obtain a document of destruction at www.KeepMesquiteBeautiful.org. Commercial office waste and household hazardous waste will not be accepted at this event. All household hazardous waste (paint cans, pesticides, motor oil, etc.) should be taken to the Dallas County Home Chemical Collection Center, 11234 Plano Road.
