Mesquite, TX – February 27, 2018 – The City of Mesquite participated in the International House of Pancakes’ (IHOP) National Pancake Day fundraiser at IHOP Mesquite, 701 Interstate Highway 30.
During this annual fundraiser, dine-in customers are offered a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. With every short stack of pancakes served, diners are encouraged to make a donation to designated charities, including Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Mayor Stan Pickett attended the fundraiser and helped flip some of the first few pancakes served. “IHOP creates these opportunities to give back to their communities,” said Mayor Pickett. “For me, it’s also an opportunity to give a little joy and happiness to people.”
According to IHOP ACG Area Director Joe Montgomery, IHOP Mesquite has raised more than $4 million since 2012. IHOP Mesquite’s charitable partner this year is Shriners Hospitals for Children.
