Mesquite, TX – October 18, 2017 – The City of Mesquite will begin conducting a citizen satisfaction survey during the next few weeks.
City Manager Cliff Keheley stated, “The purpose of the survey is to gather feedback on city programs and services. It will be a valuable tool used to measure the progress of Council priorities and help plan for the future. Actively engaging citizens will help identify areas where we can improve. The citizen survey will be an annual effort to measure the success of programs and initiatives. I look forward to the citizens’ feedback.”
The survey is being administered by ETC Institute. They are a national leader in survey research and have conducted hundreds of customer satisfaction surveys for cities across the country. Approximately 6,000 Mesquite households will be chosen at random to participate in the survey. This quantity of households is needed in order to obtain a sufficient sample that represents the views and perceptions of the entire community. Selected households will have the opportunity to complete the survey by mail, e-mail or phone.
The survey will also be offered to the public October 20 – November 10. This option is available online at www.cityofmesquite.com/2017Survey and on the city’s mobile app MesquiteTX. This option is open to anyone wanting to participate in the survey.
The survey will ask residents about their level of satisfaction and priorities for a wide range of community services including public safety, parks and recreation, code enforcement, public works, communication and customer service. It will take participants approximately 15 minutes to complete the survey.
The survey results will be presented to the City Council in December, and then made available to the public.
