Mesquite, TX – September 19, 2017 – The City of Mesquite has named David Witcher as the new Director of Economic Development. Mr. Witcher has more than 25 years of experience in both municipal and private sector economic development.
City Manager Cliff Keheley said, “We are thrilled to have Mr. Witcher join our economic development team. The City Council has identified economic development as one of their top policy issues. Mr. Witcher’s vast experiences and comprehensive knowledge will help us in our efforts to grow Mesquite’s economy.”
Mr. Witcher, a native Texan, is a graduate of Southwestern University. He has managed an array of economic development, site selection and incentive negotiations for Location Advisory Services, LLC since 2007. In addition to other private sector positions, Mr. Witcher served as the Director of Economic Development and Marketing for the City of Euless, TX from 1997 to 1999 and the Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Missouri City, TX from 1991 to 1993. His is an active member of the Texas Economic Development Council and National Eagle Scout Association.
Keheley also announced the promotion of Kim Buttram from Assistant Manager of Economic Development to the position of Assistant Director of Economic Development. She will continue her roles in business retention and expansion, implementation of the Downtown Mesquite Vision Plan and other retail projects.
