Mesquite, TX - September 19, 2017 - Last night, the Mesquite Police Department was presented with "Re-recognized Status" by the Texas Law Enforcement Best Practices Recognition Program during the City Council meeting on September 18. This prestigious honor is awarded for a four-year period. During that period, the agency must submit an annual report and show continuing compliance with several performance related standards. This process required an independent review of the department’s operational procedures, including compliance with more than 165 best business practices for Texas law enforcement agencies.
