Mesquite, TX – August 1, 2017 – Today, the Mesquite Police Department announced their support of local reading initiatives for youth by asking the community to donate new or gently used children’s books through the annual “Back the Blue, Bring a Book” campaign. The week-long campaign will be held from Monday, August 7 - Saturday, August 12.
Donations may be dropped off in specially marked collection bins at the Mesquite Main Library, 300 West Grubb Drive, from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Donations may also be delivered to the Mesquite North Branch Library, 2600 Oates Drive, from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
Members of the Mesquite Police Department will be available to personally accept donations at 11:30 a.m. on National Book Lovers Day, Wednesday, August 9, at the Mesquite Main Library, 300 West Grubb Drive.
