Mesquite, TX - June 30, 2017 - Mesquite ISD is looking to expand pre-kindergarten classes to 3-year-olds as an extension of the district’s #ReadPlayTalk initiative to have all students reading at third-grade level before entering the third grade. Although 135 3-year-olds have already been enrolled for the fall, the district believes about 1,000 students would qualify for the free program. The state reimburses  districts that offer pre-kindergarten to 3-year-olds.
