Mesquite, TX – March 17, 2017 – Beginning today, the public can donate a jar of peanut butter or jelly and take a selfie of their donation to enter two random drawings for Dallas Mavericks tickets and prizes courtesy of player Wesley Matthews. The “PB&J Madness” promotions end March 31. All donations benefit Sharing Life Community Outreach and Mesquite Social Services through the City of Mesquite’s Spread the Love campaign that helps feed children in need during the summer. For contest details, visit www.cityofmesquite.com/SpreadTheLove.
The first “PB&J Madness” promotion encourages peanut butter and jelly donations made at either of the City’s two public libraries at 300 West Grubb Drive and 2600 Oates Drive. Prizes will be randomly drawn each weekday from March 20 - 31 and will include: two pairs of tickets to the Dallas Mavericks home games on March 24 and April 11 as well as Wesley Matthews autographed basketballs and photos. Limit five entries per person.
The second “PB&J Madness” promotion encourages PB&J donations at any donation site throughout the city and posting a creative selfie with the #SpreadTheLoveMesquite hashtag on any social media platform. The winning selfie will be announced on April 2, which is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. The winner will receive a Wesley Matthews autographed Dallas Mavericks jersey. No limit on number of entries.
Wesley Matthews has created a partnership with Mesquite’s Spread the Love campaign through his foundation Driven2Greatn3ss to help draw attention to the issue of childhood hunger. On March 9, Matthews and corporate partner Albertsons/Tom Thumb donated enough peanut butter and jelly to make 20,000 sandwiches as part of a kick-off rally for the 2017 campaign.
