Mesquite to host Special Olympics Texas Polar Plunge

Mesquite, TX - January 9, 2017 - The City of Mesquite is once again supporting Special Olympics Texas by hosting the Polar Plunge. The event will be held on Saturday, January 21 at City Lake Aquatic Center, 200 Parkview Street. 

Participants who raise a minimum of $60 in donations ($30 if under 18 years old) will have the opportunity to take a plunge into the frigid waters at the aquatic center. All money raised will help provide year-round sports training, competitions, health, and inclusion programs for local individuals with intellectual disabilities.  

Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the event beginning at 10 a.m. Walk-up registrations are welcome.  Awards will be given for Top Fundraising Plunger, Top Fundraising Team and Best Costume. Please keep costumes family-friendly.
