Mesquite, TX – May 11, 2020 – The Mesquite Police Department (MPD) recently uncovered a substantial narcotics distribution operation in Mesquite. Investigators were able to observe the suspect and made numerous arrests of people purchasing narcotics from the operation. Last week, investigators conducted a search of the property and uncovered a significant amount of marijuana, Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) wax, illegal steroids and several firearms. The person suspected of running this operation was arrested on numerous charges and is currently in jail.
This case was a significant investigation involving numerous MPD officers and detectives. The issue of “public safety” continues to be a top priority of the City Council, and MPD continues to support that priority by excelling in catching the criminals in Mesquite.
The news of this successful investigation comes after the announcement in March of the MPD investigation that resulted in the arrest of 14 individuals and the seizure of more than 1,300 pounds of THC vaping cartridges and 145 pounds of THC edible candies.
Both investigations are tangible examples of the dedication of the MPD’s officers’ commitment to stopping illegal activity in the Mesquite community.
