NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

State Highway 190 - The East Branch
From Interstate Highway 30 to Interstate Highway 20
Dallas and Kaufman Counties
CSJs: 2964-06-011,012

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in conjunction with Dallas and Kaufman Counties will conduct a Public Meeting for the purpose of soliciting public comment on the proposed State Highway (SH) 190 (The East Branch) from Interstate Highway 30 (I-30) to I-20 within southeast Dallas County. A new location six-lane roadway within an approximate 280-foot right-of-way is proposed. Viable alternative alignments and potential transportation modes, including the No-Build Alternative and the potential for toll-application to the build alternatives have been examined. The corridor is approximately 11 miles in length. Refined alternatives alignments (based on previous public meetings) and evaluations of these refined alternatives will be on display. It is the intent of TxDOT to determine which alternative should be identified as the preferred development alternative in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement following this Public Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Sunnyvale Middle School, 216 North Collins Road, Sunnyvale, Texas 75182 on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. The Public Meeting will be an Open House format between the hours of 5 pm and 7 pm with no formal presentation.

Maps, drawings, and other information about the project will be on display to allow interested persons to learn more about the proposed project, environmental study process, and environmental analysis. Project personnel will also be available to assist in orientation and explanation of the drawings and other material on hand and provide the opportunity to ask questions in a one-on-one setting. Additional project information may be obtained by visiting the project’s website at www.theeastbranch.org.

All interested persons are invited to attend this Public Meeting and express their views on this proposed project. Written comments from the public regarding this project are requested and will be accepted for a period of 10 calendar days following the meeting. Written comments may be submitted either in person, or by mail to:

Mr. Bruce W. Nolley, P.E.
Texas Department of Transportation
Dallas District Office
4777 East US Highway 80
Mesquite, TX 75150

Written comments must be postmarked by Monday, December 29, 2014 to be included in the Public Meeting Summary. Persons interested in attending this meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact the TxDOT Dallas District Public Information Office at (214) 320-6100 at least two working days prior to the meeting. Because the Public Meeting will be conducted in English, any requests for language interpreters or other special communication needs should also be made at least two (2) days prior to the Public Meeting. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.
