Mesquite, TX – January 2, 2020 – On Saturday, Jan. 18, the Mesquite community will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a day of celebration.
Festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with a parade through downtown hosted by the Mesquite NAACP. The parade is open to any business, organization, church or school that would like to participate. The cost is $45 per entry.
The celebration of Dr. King’s achievements will continue at 2 p.m. with a community celebration co-hosted by the City of Mesquite and the Mesquite NAACP at the Mesquite Arts Center located at 1527 N. Galloway Avenue. The event will include speeches, choir presentations, dances and a keynote address from Dallas County Sheriff, Marian Brown.
