There are many ways to donate your time, talent and materials to the Mesquite Public Library System.
The Library provides volunteer opportunities for citizens ages 15 and up. Openings for service are available year round. We would like to direct you toward our most common needs which are: routine collection maintenance, assisting staff with special programs and events, and volunteering during the Summer Reading Program. However, if you have a unique skill set and believe that you just don’t fit any of these volunteer opportunities please complete the Volunteer Services Application.
After you have completed the required application, we will find the perfect volunteer job for you at either the Mesquite Main Library or the Mesquite North Branch Library. Call 972-216-6220 (Main) or 972-681-0465 (North Branch) for more details.
Gifts & Memorials
When you contribute to the Mesquite Public Library System, your name, or the name of the person you choose to honor, will be printed on a bookplate and placed in a new item that will circulate throughout the Mesquite Public Library System. You may specify a title or subject to be purchased in honor of a friend or loved one or, you may make a donation via check or cash. The staff will then purchase material based on a designated subject area. Material chosen for tribute will have a special bookplate affixed to it and a letter will be sent to the person of your choice acknowledging your gift to the library.
The library welcomes donations of new or slightly used materials (books, CDs, DVDs). These items may be deposited in the collection bins at either the Mesquite Main Library or the Mesquite North Branch Library. These items may be added to the library’s collection or they may be used in our Friends of the Mesquite Public Library semi-annual sale.
