Mesquite Alerts
Overview
Mesquite Alerts, powered by CodeRed, is a web-based mass notification system that enables the City of Mesquite to notify targeted residents and businesses in our community of time-sensitive information, emergencies, or urgent notifications by telephone, text message, email and TDD.
The system delivers a recorded phone message from the City of Mesquite describing the situation and any instructions for immediate or future action. The message will play when answered by a live person or an answering machine and makes three attempts to connect to each number. If you opt in for text message and/or email alerts in the database, those will also be sent.
Uses
Mesquite Alerts provides the City of Mesquite with the ability to notify residents in the event of emergency situations or critical information such as water boil advisories, weather emergencies, chemical spills, or other incidents where rapid and accurate notification is essential for life safety. In order to receive these notifications, residents need to sign up for this free service. Residents are also encouraged to download the free mobile app as well. Through this system, residents will receive the type of notification of their choice of voice, text, and/or email. This includes a notification for the visually impaired.
