Archery Range Hours
- Monday - Friday: Noon - 6 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.
- Sunday: Noon. - 6 p.m
Introduction to Archery
Come get a taste of archery with our certified instructors. After a brief talk on archery safety, our instructors will have you hitting the target in no time. This is a one-time, hour-long class that will be held on the first Saturday of each month. All equipment is provided.
- Ages 6-15

Beginners - Ages 6-12
A basic class in target archery, this course requires no prior. Knowledge or experience and covers all the basics of target archery, archery safety, rules, and proper shooting techniques. All equipment is provided.
- March 6 - 27 - Saturdays - (11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
- May 5 - 29 - Saturdays - (1:30 - 2:30 p.m.)
- $25 per person, 4 sessions
Beginner Archery for Women
Ladies come learn the proper technique of shooting a recurve or a compound bow by a certified instructor.
- Ages 18 & up
- March 13 - 27
- Saturdays - (10 - 11 a.m.)
- $15 for 3-week session
Adult Beginner Archery
Learn the proper technique of shooting a bow, the etiquette of safety and rules of archery. This class will focus on proper body position, bow position, and shooting accuracy. All equipment is provided.

- May 15 - 29
- Saturdays - (12 - 1 p.m.)
- $15 for 3-week session
Military - Ages 18+ (bring your military ID)
Anyone with a military I.D., whether retired, serving or anything way of serving our country will be able to learn about archery. All equipment is provided, and all ages are welcome.

Couples Archery
Couples learn together the proper technique of shooting a recurve or a compound bow by a certified instructor. Come join the fun and make it a date night.

- Thursdays - (6 - 7 p.m.)
- $25 for 3-week session
Bow Hunting Techniques Class
In the bowhunting class, you will learn how to build your shot opportunity, clearing a shooting lane, distance a deer can run after being hit with an arrow, proper deadly shots to make, and other informative information about bow hunting. You will also be shown how to make a fake deer, with organs using household food items and a little outdoor supply. Come join the fun at Westlake Sports Center Archery staff in bow hunting class.

Bow Maintenance
Learn how to take care of your bow equipment and maintenance that is required to keep your bow in fine-tuned condition.

Beginner Archery League
- Saturdays, September 5 - October 24
- Ages 8-10, 9 - 10 a.m.
- Ages 11-13, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
- Ages 14-17, 12 - 1 p.m.
- Ages 18+, 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.
- Couples Ages 18+, 3 - 4 p.m.
- $40 per person for 8-week session
(20 spots available in each age range)
- Compound bow is used for league
Private Archery Lessons
Ralph Gordon is a USA Archery Level III NTS Certified Instructor/Trainer with 40+ years of experience. Price per hour is for one-on-one lessons, group rates also available by request.
Private lessons cost $45 per hour
*Group prices vary depending on size

Archery Range Rules & Regulations
- All users must check-in at the pro shop
- Children under age 16 are required to have adult supervision
- Users assume all risk related to the use of archery range and equipment
- All archers must:
- Shoot only at designated targets within their lane
- Shoot only from the shooting line
- Ensure that the area is clear before shooting
- Not use broadhead arrows - only field tip arrows
- Not dry fire or sky draw
- All shooting must stop before archers retrieve arrows
- Maximum draw poundage is 120 for a compound, longbow, crossbow and recurve
- Paintball guns and firearms are prohibited
- No alcoholic beverages, smoking, or pets are allowed within the range area
- The City of Mesquite is not responsible for damage to or loss of personal equipment
- Patrons found in violation of any of the above rules or conducting themselves in an unsafe manner will be asked to leave
