The KidFish start time is delayed until 8:30 a.m. due to lightning.
Mesquite Parks and Recreation and Community Heart of Mesquite are proud to announce the annual KidFish event at City Lake Park, 403 South Galloway Avenue, on May 14. This year, the popular family-friendly fishing activity will begin at 8 a.m. Kid Fish is a free event for children 16 and younger.
All fishing participants must register for the event. Registration forms may be downloaded here and brought to City Lake Park during KidFish.
Limited poles and bait are provided.
Participants may use their own fishing gear.
City Lake Park is generously stocked prior to the event, which increases children's odds of a memorable experience.
The event is free, and we hope that through participation in the event, kids gain an appreciation for the sport of fishing as well as awareness for the environment and its natural resources.
Prizes and trophies will be awarded immediately following the final measuring and weigh-in of the fish.
More About the Program
KidFish is a non-profit outreach program designed to educate and provide a hands-on fishing experience and memories for children and families. The event will give children a chance to experience the sport of fishing as well as the outdoors. Families are welcome to spend the day enjoying the park and picnic while watching their children fish.
Sponsorship helps to expand the KidFish program, although they are not necessary to participate.
Prizes are awarded to the children who raise the most amount of cash donations. Click here for a full list of prizes and the sponsorship form.
