The U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires local communities and states to prepare an Annual Action Plan, 3-5 year Consolidated Plan and Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) in order to receive federal housing and community development funding. The City of Mesquite is a participating jurisdiction and receives entitlement grants from HUD for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). These documents are the City of Mesquite's 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan, 2015-2019 5-year Consolidated Plan, and 2017-2018 CAPER, stating how the city plans to allocate and implement the fiscal year (FY) 2019 CDBG entitlement funds.
Public Notice of the 30-day Comment Period for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Annual Action Plan.
In accordance with federal regulation governing the use of CDBG funds, the City of Mesquite proposes the Program Year 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan with a 30-day public comment period. The Annual Action Plan outlines how program funds allocated to the city by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be used. The Comment period will occur between Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 through Friday, August 2nd, 2019. The public is invited to submit comments on the draft version of the Annual Action Plan in writing to “Attention: CDBG”, P.O. Box 850137, Mesquite, Texas 75185-0137 or drop comments off at the Community Services Office front desk at 1616 North Galloway Ave, Mesquite, Texas 75149. A copy of the draft Action Plan will be available at the Community Services Offices and online on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019. All written comments must be received by the close of business day (5:00 p.m.) on Friday, August 2nd, 2019, to be considered prior to the submission of the Annual Action Plan to HUD.
