“Spread the Love” campaign collects over 2,400 jars of peanut butter and jelly
Thank you to the Mesquite community for the overwhelming support of the “Spread the Love” peanut butter and jelly food drive. Over 2,400 jars of peanut butter and jelly, enough for 20,000 sandwiches, were donated to the City of Mesquite food drive benefitting the food pantries of Sharing Life Community Outreach and Mesquite Social Services. Mesquite AMBUCS also donated $600 to the campaign.
Donations to the “Spread the Love” peanut butter and jelly campaign were accepted throughout the spring and summer months of 2016 in an effort to support local food pantries. During the summer, these food pantries see a high demand for peanut butter and jelly to help feed children who typically rely on free or reduced lunches provided by their schools during the school year.
