Summer Sizzle - 2017

Kick off your summer on Saturday, June 10 at Paschall Park, 1001 New Market Road. The day will be filled with families enjoying live music, food trucks, children’s activities, a mud volleyball tournament and more. Summer Sizzle will end with a fireworks show set to music. Entrance into the park is free, but some activities will have a fee.  

Vendors


We are seeking artisan, arts and crafts, and boutique vendors to participate in this event. In effort to ensure the success of our vendors, we will jury all applications. Vendors will be selected on quality of products and on a first-come, first-served basis. To guarantee booth space, applications must be submitted by 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
Incomplete paperwork will not be accepted. Booth space is limited.

Mud Volleyball Tournament


Ages: 12+
Registration Dates: May 1 - 28
Games Played: Saturday, June 10
Check-in will be at 12 p.m., tournament play begins at 1 p.m..
$50 per team

GAME FORMAT
Co-ed 6 X 6
Maximum of 8 players per roster
2 females on the court at all times

Individual Registration: Early Bird $20 – After June 4: $35

Pet 80's Costume Contest
  •  Pet owners are encouraged to dress their pet like an 80's icon
  • Judges will score based on a ten-point scale
  • Winner will be awarded a pet prize
  • Registration forms will be taken at the information booth 
 2:15 p.m
Air Guitar Contest
  • Contestants will improv a portion of an 80's song, the best air shred, will win.
  • Judges will score based on an ten-point scale.
  •  Winner will be awarded a Family 4 pack to Celebration Station
  • Registration forms will be taken at the information booth
 4:15 p.m
Texas Roadhouse Rib Eating Contest
  •  Limited to the first 10 participants
  • Winners will be awarded a cutting board trophy and $50 gift certificate to Texas Roadhouse
  • Second and third prize will win a $25 gift certificate to Texas Roadhouse
  • Registration forms will be taken at the information booth

80's Costume Contest
  • Contestants may wear anything appropriate for a family friendly event
  • Judges will score on a ten-point scale

World Record Attempt


Be a part of setting a world record with Record Setter for the most people to wearing a glow stick while dancing to "Can't Stop the Feeling!" This is a free activity and will begin at 6:45 p.m. at the stage.

Parking


Parking is free in the Travis Williams Softball Complex fields, located at 1005 New Market Road. 
  • Parking is in the grass field behind the complex.
Shuttle Service is available starting at 3 p.m. from Mesquite Memorial Stadium, 2411 Scyene Road.
