Uniform Crime Report (UCR) Clearance Rates

The Uniform Crime Report Clearance (UCR) Rates show the percentage of UCR crimes cleared by law enforcement agencies. All law enforcement agencies strive to have high clearance rates.  A higher clearance rate indicates increased success by the department in solving or clearing offense reports assigned to detectives, resulting in more successfully closed cases.  Historically, violent crimes have a higher clearance rate due to the personal interaction between the victim and the suspect compared to property crimes.
