Development Highlights

Fuel City, famous for their Fuel City tacos, has begun construction on a 17-acre parcel at Samuell Boulevard and South Town East, close to US 80. We anticipate Fuel City will open in the fall, but will continue to update this page as we learn more.

Baker Brother’s Plumbing and HVAC has moved their corporate headquarters to Mesquite. The company completed renovations on the building on Big Town Boulevard between US 80 and IH 30. Baker Brothers is one of the top plumbing and HVAC service providers in the Metroplex, winning the Consumers’ Choice Award for the past 8 years.

Vista Crossing, the 230,000 square foot retail center has undergone redevelopment. The major anchors, Hobby Lobby and Mardel will be joined by El Rio Grande Latin Market and dd’s Discount Store.

Market East Shopping Center was recently purchased by Fidelis Realty Partners. Fidelis services properties in 9 cities throughout Texas, New Mexico and Louisiana. With many retail partners and plans to add approximately 125,000 square feet to the center, the City is excited to see this next stage of Market East.

IH 20 Development, City staff has been meeting regularly to discuss potential development and future plans for the IH 20 corridor, an area of vacant land located within Dallas and Kaufman County.
