Thank you Mesquite!

The 2016 Clear the Shelter adoption day was a tremendous success with 92 dogs and cats adopted. Congratulations to the new pet owners and their new family members.

Clear the Shelters Day is a national event with participating shelters waiving adoption fees in hopes of raising awareness and placing all adoptable pets into new homes. The City of Mesquite once again participated in the event held this year on Saturday, July 23. New homes were found for 92 dogs and cats from the Mesquite Animal Shelter. All adopted pets were sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped. All adoptions also included over $200 worth of free veterinary services in vouchers donated by VIP Petcare. Last year, nearly 20,000 pets were adopted nationwide.
