When School is out, FUN is in!
Looking for a fun and safe place for your kids? Mesquite Parks and Recreation offers two great options for kids to have fun during MISD closures.
Play Days
Play Days are offered when MISD is out for scheduled professional development days or inclement weather days. Care is provided for children kindergarten through sixth grade at Dunford Recreation Center (1015 Green Canyon Dr.) from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Activities for Play Day include group games in the gym or outside (weather permitting), arts and crafts, free play in the gym, and table games (board games, card games, etc.) Kids will have a day of fun doing crafts, playing games, and other fun activities.
Fee: $20 per child per day for residents and $30 per child per day for non-residents
Children will need to bring a sack lunch, water bottle labeled with their name, and an afternoon snack. We recommend children wear closed-toed shoes.
Registration: Pre-registration and payment is required and must be made by the registration deadline. Space is limited. A minimum number of participants must be registered to ensure a Play Day program will be held. Registration is available at the Parks and Recreation Administration Office, 1515 N. Galloway Ave. or online.
The 2022-2023 Kid Care registration packet must be completely filled out and returned before a child may attend the program. Completed packets can be turned in to the Parks and Recreation administration office located at 1515 N. Galloway Ave. or emailed to : funmakers@cityofmesquite.com
