Mesquite is part of a group of cities that make up the Dallas County Household Hazardous Waste Network. A combination of grant funding and contributions from participating cities allowed the network to construct a permanent home chemical collection center, which is now available for residents to drop off home chemicals for reuse and/or disposal on a year round basis. The permanent facility features evening and weekend hours and is available to residents of all network cities - including Mesquite - at no charge. A valid drivers license and a current utility bill are required as proof of residency. The facility does not accept commercially generated chemicals, radioactive materials or medical waste.
