All yard waste in Mesquite is collected at the Municipal Composting Facility and broken down organically through a method called composting. The finished materials are compost and mulch which can be used for gardening and other landscape purposes.

Finished compost products are available to Mesquite residents at no charge. Non-residents and commercial businesses may purchase the mulch at $4.00 per yard and compost for $10.00 per yard. Mesquite residents may pickup a maximum of two cubic yards of compost and unlimited mulch at no charge. Compost and mulch are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Mesquite residents must show a drivers license and utility bill as proof of residency.
