Over time, we will discuss important current issues in the world of crime, offer tips and education on different aspects in crime prevention, and introduce you to your police department. We want you to know who we are and what we stand for. And for those of you considering a career in law enforcement, we will offer video podcasts depicting the numerous opportunities and potential positions you could assume within the Mesquite Police Department. Journey for Survival
		</title>
		<link>http://www.mesquitemedia.net/police_web/podcasts/katrina.mp4</link>
		<description>
In September 2005, 283 buses carrying over 12,000 Hurricane Katrina Evacuees stopped at the Big Town Mall parking lot on their way to temporary shelters in Dallas, Fort Worth, and other cities. The purpose of this staging area was to provide a rest stop with medical aid and refreshments for the evacuees. With only 90 minutes to prepare, a multi-agency operation of unprecedented proportions was undertaken with impressive results. This video collects and shares a few memories of the emergency personnel that worked during that hot labor day weekend.
