How can I get a copy of a Police Report? 

  • ACCIDENT REPORT

    Copies of your report are available for a fee of $6.00 each. Copies can be obtained:

    2. In person Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (excluding holidays) at the following address:

    3. By mail - include the following information: the name of complainant or driver, date of incident, location or address of incident, service number (listed above). When requesting by mail send check or money order payable to the City of Mesquite. DO NOT SEND CASH. Mail request to:

How can I file a supplemental stolen property report? 

Offense/Incident supplemental reports may be obtained by contacting the Mesquite Police Department Records Section, in person at 777 North Galloway Avenue, Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, or by mail. Mailed requests should be sent to the address below and should include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

How do I get fingerprinted? (Note:new times)  

Fingerprinting may be obtained by contacting the Mesquite Police Department Records Section, located at 777 North Galloway Avenue, Thursdays from 7 PM until 9 PM. There is a $10.00 charge, payable to the City of Mesquite, for each fingerprint card. We are unable to provide fingerprinting for immigration purposes.

Mesquite Police Department provides fingerprinting of children, for identification purposes, through the Kidprint program. Children will be fingerprinted, at no cost, at any time. The Mesquite Police Department will not retain the fingerprints in our files. The fingerprints will be given to the parents to keep and use.

How do I get my impounded vehicle released?  

Contact the front desk at 972-216-6261. You will need to have your VIN number or License plate number to determine which of the three wrecker yards your vehicle could be at. The front desk will then give you the phone number and address where your vehicle is located. You will need to call that wrecker service to obtain fees and requirements to claim your vehicle.

How do I get someone out of jail?  

The method for getting a person released from jail varies depending on the offense(s) charged against the arrested person. You may contact the Mesquite Jail by phone, at (972) 216-6243, to obtain information on release methods.

How can I get a listing of registered sex offenders residing in Mesquite?  

You may obtain a listing of registered sex offenders residing in Mesquite by submitting a written request (form provided), in person, to the Mesquite Police Department Records Section at 777 North Galloway Avenue, Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, or by mail. Mailed requests should be sent to the address below and should include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

What is the department's policy regarding racial profiling?  

The Mesquite Police Department is committed to unbiased policing. Acts of racial profiling are strictly prohibited by this department. Citizens who wish to file a complaint regarding an allegation of racial profiling may do so as stated in the complaint section.

How can I file a complaint?  

Complaints may be filed by contacting the Mesquite Police Department Internal Affairs Section, Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, in person at 777 North Galloway Avenue, or by phone at (972) 216-6236. Outside of the hours listed above, you may contact the on-duty Watch Commander by phone at (972) 216-6251.

Why didn’t you make a report on my minor accident?  

Generally, it is the policy of the Mesquite Police Department that accidents involving only damage to property will not be investigated and no report will be taken.
