How can I get a copy of a Police Report?
You may obtain a copy of an Offense Report by contacting the Mesquite Police Department Records Section in person at 777 North Galloway Avenue, Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, or by mail. Requests must include information to identify the report, i.e. incident number, date and location of offense or complainant’s name. Mailed requests should be sent to the address listed below and must be accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Copies of offense reports are provided at no charge.

Requests must include a minimum of two factors identifying the report, i.e. location, date of occurrence, name of driver or incident number. Mailed requests should be sent to the address listed below and must be accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope. There is a $6.00 charge, payable to the City of Mesquite, for each accident report provided.

How do I get fingerprinted? (Note:new times)
Fingerprinting may be obtained by contacting
the Mesquite Police Department Records Section, located
at 777 North Galloway Avenue, Thursdays from 7 PM until
9 PM. There is a $10.00 charge, payable to the City
of Mesquite, for each fingerprint card. We are unable
to provide fingerprinting for immigration purposes.
Mesquite Police Department provides fingerprinting of children, for identification purposes, through the Kidprint program. Children will be fingerprinted, at no cost, at any time. The Mesquite Police Department will not retain the fingerprints in our files. The fingerprints will be given to the parents to keep and use.
How do I get my impounded vehicle released?
Contact the front desk at 972-216-6261. You will need to have your VIN number or License plate number to determine which of the three wrecker yards your vehicle could be at. The front desk will then give you the phone number and address where your vehicle is located. You will need to call that wrecker service to obtain fees and requirements to claim your vehicle.

What is the department's policy regarding racial profiling?
The Mesquite Police Department is committed to unbiased policing. Acts of racial profiling are strictly prohibited by this department. Citizens who wish to file a complaint regarding an allegation of racial profiling may do so as stated in the complaint section.

Why didn’t you make a report on my minor accident?
Generally, it is the policy of the Mesquite Police Department that accidents involving only damage to property will not be investigated and no report will be taken.
